چکیده

The odd edge connectivity of a graph G, denoted by o(G), is the size of a smallest odd edge cut of the graph. Let S be any given surface and be a positive real number. We proved that there is a function fS( ) (depends on the surface S and lim !0 fS( )1⁄41) such that any graph G embedded in S with the odd-edge connectivity at least fS( ) admits a nowhere-zero circular (2þ )-flow. Another major result of the work is a new vertex splitting lemma which maintains the old edge connectivity and graph embedding. 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Graph Theory 40: 147–161, 2002

Vertex Removable Cycles of Graphs and Digraphs

‎In this paper we defined the vertex removable cycle in respect of the following‎, ‎if $F$ is a class of graphs(digraphs)‎ ‎satisfying certain property‎, ‎$G in F $‎, ‎the cycle $C$ in $G$ is called vertex removable if $G-V(C)in in F $.‎ ‎The vertex removable cycles of eulerian graphs are studied‎. ‎We also characterize the edge removable cycles of regular‎ ‎graphs(digraphs).‎

The irregularity and total irregularity of Eulerian graphs

For a graph G, the irregularity and total irregularity of G are defined as irr(G)=∑_(uv∈E(G))〖|d_G (u)-d_G (v)|〗 and irr_t (G)=1/2 ∑_(u,v∈V(G))〖|d_G (u)-d_G (v)|〗, respectively, where d_G (u) is the degree of vertex u. In this paper, we characterize all ‎connected Eulerian graphs with the second minimum irregularity, the second and third minimum total irregularity value, respectively.

Vertex Decomposable Simplicial Complexes Associated to Path Graphs

Introduction Vertex decomposability of a simplicial complex is a combinatorial topological concept which is related to the algebraic properties of the Stanley-Reisner ring of the simplicial complex. This notion was first defined by Provan and Billera in 1980 for k-decomposable pure complexes which is known as vertex decomposable when . Later Bjorner and Wachs extended this concept to non-pure ...

A note on mixed graphs and directed splitting off

We give counterexamples to two conjectures in \Bill Jackson, Some remarks on arc-connectivity, vertex splitting, and orientation in graphs and digraphs, Journal of Graph Theory, 12(3):429{436, 1988" concerning orientations of mixed graphs and splitting oo in digraphs, and prove the rst conjecture in the (di-) Eulerian case(s). Beside that we solve the degree constrained directed augmentation pr...

Eulerian detachments with local edge-connectivity

For a graph G, a detachment operation at a vertex transforms the graph into a new graph by splitting the vertex into several vertices in such a way that the original graph can be obtained by contracting all the split vertices into a single vertex. A graph obtained from a given graph G by applying detachment operations at several vertices is called a detachment of graph G. We consider a detachme...
